SEO & GEO Workflows: get found on Google and in generative AI

More and more B2B buyers ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity who to hire. We build workflows that measure and improve your company's presence on Google, Bing and AI platforms, continuously and automatically.

The problem

Your website exists. But do Google and AI know it does?

Many Portuguese B2B companies have a good product and a well-designed website, but they are invisible when a decision-maker looks for a solution. And search has changed: as well as Google, buyers now ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity who to hire. If your company does not appear in those answers, it does not make the list of options.

The problems we see most often:

The company only appears when someone searches for its name.

In industry searches without the brand name, the website does not appear.

A small market with little search volume.

In Portugal, each niche term has low search volume, and generic keywords are dominated by large international platforms.

Content that AI cannot cite.

There are no pages per service, case studies with numbers, indicative prices or direct answers to buyers' questions.

Invisible technical blocks.

A security plugin or a robots.txt rule may be stopping AI crawlers from reading the website, without anyone knowing.

Nobody measures it.

Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools are not connected, and nobody knows whether AI cites the company or for which questions.

No time or team.

In startups and SMEs, SEO gets postponed because it requires a weekly analysis that is hard to do manually.

What we do

Organic optimisation for search engines and generative AI

Traditional SEO works on rankings in Google's results. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) works so that your company can be mentioned and cited in the answers of AI platforms. We work on both together, because AI often relies on the same search indexes.

Google

How it finds content
Googlebot and Google's index
What we optimise
Service pages, keywords with commercial intent, structured data, performance

Google AI Overviews

How it finds content
Summaries generated from Google's index
What we optimise
Direct answers to buyers' questions, FAQs, content cited by reference sources

Bing and Copilot

How it finds content
Bingbot and Bing's index
What we optimise
Indexing in Bing Webmaster Tools and analysis of Copilot citations

ChatGPT

How it finds content
OAI-SearchBot and web search
What we optimise
Crawler access, pages that answer the questions decision-makers ask ChatGPT

Gemini

How it finds content
Google's index and search
What we optimise
Presence on Google and in sources Gemini cites

Perplexity

How it finds content
PerplexityBot and web search
What we optimise
Factual, up-to-date content with sources

Claude

How it finds content
Claude-SearchBot and web search
What we optimise
Clear, structured content that the crawler can access

The goal, in practice:

  • A decision-maker asks ChatGPT “Which companies in Portugal do X for SMEs?” and your company makes the list, with a link to the right page.
  • On Google, the search “how much does X cost” shows an AI Overview that may cite your pricing page.
  • In Bing Webmaster Tools, you can see how often Copilot cites your website and for which searches.

How we work

Three steps: open the door, measure, automate

01

Check whether AI can read your website

We check whether AI platforms' crawlers are visiting the website and that nothing is blocking them. We start with OAI-SearchBot, the crawler that builds ChatGPT's search index: if it is blocked in robots.txt, the website cannot be cited in those answers.

NexterWP
  • We review robots.txt, firewall rules and security plugins that block “AI bots” without warning
  • We look in the server logs for visits from OAI-SearchBot, Bingbot, Googlebot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot
  • We separate search crawlers (which allow the website to be cited) from model-training crawlers, so you can decide what to allow

02

Connect the data sources

We connect the tools that show how Google and Bing see the website:

  • Google Search Console: searches, impressions, clicks and positions, with and without the brand name
  • Bing Webmaster Tools: indexing in Bing and the AI Performance report, which shows the website's citations in Copilot and the searches behind them Search Influence
  • Google Analytics: traffic from AI platforms and lead conversions
  • Submitting the sitemap to both search engines

03

Build the workflows

We build workflows that automatically do, every week, the analysis your team does not have time to do by hand. We work in n8n, an automation platform that can be hosted on your company's own infrastructure.

If your company already uses an enterprise AI suite, we can also build the workflows in the tool you already pay for, on request:

  • Google Gemini Enterprise: no-code agents and workflows connected to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 Revolgy
  • Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Automate: agents and automated flows within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem Microsoft Learn

Workflows

Two workflows that work for you

Workflow 1 — SEO Analysis

Find out which searches and questions lead buyers to your sector, and what content to create to be found on Google.

StepWhat it does
ReadsYour company website (up to 8 pages) and defines the brand profile: what it does, value proposition, decision-makers and likely competitors
ResearchesKeywords with demand in Portugal, where the website already appears, “People also ask” questions and Google's AI Overviews
RecommendsBuyers' questions, a topic map by pillar and priority actions for the coming weeks
DeliversReport by email and a spreadsheet with keywords, questions and the topic map

Workflow 2 — AI and Google visibility

Find out whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot recommend your company, and what to publish to increase the chance of being recommended.

StepWhat it does
AsksPuts your buyers' real questions to AI platforms, several times, to measure consistently
MeasuresWhether your company is cited, in what position, and which competitors are recommended instead
Cross-checksAI answers against Search Console and Copilot citations in Bing Webmaster Tools
RecommendsFor each question, the content to publish to improve the chances of being cited
DeliversWeekly report showing the change since the previous week

The workflows are set up for your sector, your questions and your competitors. It is not a generic report: it is a system fine-tuned with you every week.
